Description:
Attached: "S/229864 COPYRIGHT UNDERWOOD & UNDERWOOD, N.Y. JABBING THE KAISER -- GREATEST OF OUT DOOR SPORTS AT NATIONAL ARMY CAMPS. The favorite out door sport of the boys who are learning to be soldiers at the National Kaiser Bill. Of course the fact that the only Kaiser they can jab is a dummy takes some of the joy out of the pasttime, but at that the soldier in the photo is enjoying himself. This dummy Kaiser was set up for bayonet practice at Camp Dix. His heart is marked out plainly so that the boys who go through this training will know just where to plunge their bayonets when they meet the Kaiser's men, they hope to meet him too, somewhere along the Western front. This jabbing the Kaiser is good fun but at the same time it is mighty good practice in the science of manipulating the bayonet which is a very important item in the education of every good fighting men. CENSORED AND PASSED BY THE COMMITTEE ON PUBLIC INFORMATION. 10/30/17."
