Attached: "S/M162916 F.C. COPYRIGHT UNDERWOOD & UNDERWOOD, N.Y. TORPEDOED MEDIE GOES DOWN IN TWO MINUTES. A remarkable photograph of the sinking of the transport Medie in the Mediterranean on Sept. 23rd. It shows the moment when the crew dived into the sea from their lost craft. When the torpedo hit the transport the munitions on board exploded causing her to go down in two minutes. The submarine that caused the loss of 250 lives on the transport slowly came to the surface after firing the torpedo and was itself sunk. 11/21/17."
