The Front line trenches afford no places for the storing of any quantity of food, but the boys up there must get their regular rations just the same. This official British photo shows how their food is gotten to them. A squad of Tommies is advancing along the duckboard path to bring the food to the men in the trenches. Notice that every man though lacking a gun is equipped with a gas mask. 2/15/18."
