Attached: "169028 F.C. 169026 F.C. COPYRIGHT UNDERWOOD & UNDERWOOD, N.Y. OPEN WARFARE ON THE DESERT OF MESOPOTAMIA. A British eighteen pounder in action on the desert of Mesopotamia. The British campaign in Mesopotamia has been as successful as the drive through Palestine. The warefare in this country is different from the Western Front. A great deal of the fighting is done in the open and not from the trenches. This battery is not masked in any way, but does its bit right out in the open desert. The empty shell cases can be seen in the foreground. British Official Photo. 2/20/18."
