Attached: "S/W-I58824 F.C. COPYRIGHT UNDERWOOD & UNDERWOOD, N.Y. BRAVE RUSSIAN WOMEN WOUNDED FIGHTING THE TEUTONS ON THE EASTERN FRONT. This is the first photograph to reach the United States of the brave Russian women of the "Battalion of Death" who were wounded while fighting against the Teutons on the Eastern Front. These heroic women took up arms when Russian men were throwing them away, fleeing. They organized themselves into the "Battalion of Death" and gave a mighty good account of themselves in battle. 9/18/17."
